Employment: Full-Time

Job Brief
As a Physiotherapists you are needed to work with people on a daily basis, recommending exercise, carrying out the massage, and using high-tech ultrasound equipment depending on your patients’ needs. Once a patient’s movement problem has been diagnosed, you'll work with them to determine a treatment plan. You'll also promote good health and advise people on how to avoid injury. You may work alone, or as part of a team, and you’ll have plenty of choices when it comes to places to work. In the Deva Medical Center, you're needed in nearly every department such as outpatients, women’s health, paediatrics’ and occupational health. You must have a flexible approach and have the ability to work as a team player as well as individually, in order to meet the demands of the patients and/or team. Therefore, well-educated/trained and excellent communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Administering muscle, nerve, joint functional ability and other tests to identify and assess physical problems of patients

• Establishing treatment goals with patients and designing treatment programs to reduce physical pain, strengthen muscles, improve cardiothoracic, cardiovascular and respiratory functions, restore joint mobility, and improve balance and coordination

• Developing, implementing and monitoring programs and treatments using the therapeutic properties of exercise, heat, cold, massage, manipulation, hydrotherapy, electrotherapy, ultraviolet and infra-red light and ultrasound in the treatment of patients

• Instructing patients and their families in procedures to be continued outside clinical settings

• Recording information on patients' health status and responses to treatment in medical record-keeping systems, and sharing information with other health professionals as required to ensure continuing and comprehensive care

• Developing and implementing programmes for screening and prevention of common physical ailments and disorders

• Supervising the work of physiotherapy assistants and others

Qualifications/Skills

• Registered Physiotherapist at the council

• Have completed education to a minimum level of Diploma A0

• Intermediate in English and Kinyarwanda (oral and written)

Education and Experience

• Have a minimum of 2 years experience in the clinic/hospital.

Requirements

• Knowledge of computer skills, especially MS Excel and Word.

• Carry out comprehensive and accurate physiotherapy assessment

• Accept accountability and responsibility for their own actions

• Demonstrate good work ethic, hardworking and honest

• Strong communication and people skills

• Be highly organized, self-motivated, and eager to learn

• Be dependable, respectful, flexible
